Capt. Dave Shores welcomes you aboard ZaBreeNa, a 36 ft Sabre sloop docked at Pike’s Bay Marina 1.3 miles south of Bayfield, WI, for a fun and memorable weekend of sailing and sightseeing in the Apostle Islands.

Cruises:
We offer two kinds of cruises: a Day-Sail and a 2 or 3 day Weekend Cruise.

Weekend Cruise:
Our sailing plan depends on customer preferences, but popular destinations are: Stockton Is., Outer Is., Raspberry Is., Michigan Is., Devil’s Is., or Sand Is. (the latter two have sea caves). We have a small dinghy for trips ashore.  For those interested in Photography,  our sailing plan can be designed around photo-opportunities, including glorious sunrises and sunsets, remote and pristine beaches, lighthouses, e.g. on Sand Island or Devil’s Island, sea caves, and interesting nature settings.  The actual route taken depends on the weather.

Typical itinerary for a 2-day cruise:
Board ZaBreeNa Friday night (after 5 PM), set sail Saturday morning, anchor Saturday night in the Apostle Islands, sail Sunday and return to marina by 3 PM Sunday. 

Meals aboard ZaBreeNa include: breakfast:  Sat. and Sun., lunch: Sat. and Sun., dinner: Sat. at anchorage.  The meals are purchased and planned by the crew and the cost is shared.  

We have a galley with propane stove, oven, BBQ grill and refrigerator, as well as the usual pots, pans and dinner ware.  We can easily accommodate up to five persons, depending on sleeping arrangements.  The forward “Vee” berth sleeps two adults, in the main cabin there is a double berth for two adults and a single berth for one adult, and a “quarter berth” for one adult.  For more information see the boat and Gear .

Itinerary for a 3-day cruise:
The extra day (Thursday to Sunday or Friday to Monday) generates another overnight anchorage and another full day of sailing in the Islands.  This significantly increases the number of islands that can be visited or hiking trails that can be explored. 

Charter Rates:
(a) Two-day Weekend charter rates, with captain, (for example, Friday evening boarding to Sunday): $775 + $17.50/day for dinghy with a small outboard.  (Wisconsin sales tax of 5.5% applies.) 

(b) Three-day charter rates, with captain:  $1025 + $17.50/day for dinghy with a small outboard.  Additional days are $250 + $17.50/day for dinghy with outboard.  (Wisconsin sales tax of 5.5% applies.)  

A deposit of $350 is required to reserve a date.  Payment may be made by check or via PayPal.  The balance is due upon boarding.  (Compare these rates to those at other charter companies in the Bayfield area for a 36 ft., well-appointed sailboat.)

Due to safety concerns, children under the age of 12 are not allowed on Cruises.  Check the Calendar on for available dates.
