Isle Royale Week-Long Cruise

Home

Departing from Grand Marais harbor on Saturday, July 31st and returning August 7th, this annual trip will be a sail around Isle Royale. We will anchor/dock each night in a wilderness setting, and will sail (a lot!) each day, with time for hiking or exploring in the morning or after anchoring in the afternoon.  There will be many great photo opportunities.  We will be aboard ZaBreeNa, a 36 ft Sabre sloop.  Sleeping arrangements on ZaBreeNa limit the crew to 5 plus the captain, Dave Shores

This is an ambitious trip; the estimated total distance is 214 nm.  All meals will be on board ZaBreeNa; there are no restaurants on Isle Royale.  In the event of bad weather, we will hunker down in a harbor and re-assess the schedule. The estimated charter cost, based on 5 persons, is 580$/person.
